Sun shining as brightly as it can as it slowly descends upon a western horizon in Phoenix, Arizona, its tell-tale rays doing their best to keep earth lit enough to see what we're doing.

Now ebbing further down upon the horizon, filling the sky with brilliantly colored oranges, reds, yellows, almost hiding below the mountains, throwing shadows across the desert floor now.

Going down the tracks, train rolling into mind and intellect
taking this mere poet around the bend, filling this being with
an energetic motion flowing interiorly.

Riding roughshod over plateaus, going through desert mountains,
rocky roads and going down into ravines and canyons of beauty,
many echoes bouncing off the walls, giving voice to mountains themselves.

American flags waving over the sides of rooftops, Cold Front
giving a great concert western style.

Mountains standing majestically in the near distance, while

Living in the city, yet being in a magnificent desert
with all kinds of mountains growing and surrounding
us here in the valley.

Noticing desert landscapes up and down the street where I live
in Phoenix, saguaros, ocotillos, barrel and jumping cacti all
beckoning this mind's poetical essence.

Branches of thought being flavored with aromas of blossoming
flowers unfolding along their lengths, climbing through fields
of mountains.

Snow-capped mountains reaching into the blue sky, looking down into
their deep canyons, feeling their heights while flowing over them,
shadows curling up in the midst of their curves and rocky ledges.

Climbing mountains of self-esteem, finding footholds that in-
crease inner strength with ingenuity and creativeness, totally
finding an equality and justice of freedom and liberty.

Watching as snow-capped mountains appear in memories of
yesterday, recalling many moments of wonder, curiosity
and delight at their reflections.

Looking out into the future of nature, seeing it's
tenuous mountains standing erect and protective all
around our thriving city.

Seeking out mountains in the distance, looking regal and
naturally beautiful as they stand at attention, looking
out over the Valley of the Sun.

blended close together.

Whomever would eat these tasty looking

Lounging on life's porch, eyeing magnificent
mountains overlaid in clouds scattered about
the sky.

Showing images through prism crystals, changing shapes,
forming new formulas based on what I'm seeing through
grey matter.
Loving the beauty of each prism, crystallizing in sight.

Stepping across the desert, watching reverberations of sun
rays coalesce and vibrate in many mirages of heated day
light.

Mountains aging right before our eyes, as we gaze and see their
balding rock hard heads, sitting atop a myriad of steep and
falling cliffs.

Riding out to Apache Junction, gazing at the
Superstition Mountains, so majestic and
beautiful in an evening of stormy weather.

Mountains peeking
through low lying clouds,
trying to hide themselves
from the threat of reality.

Mountains gently touching my soul, bringing about a
realization of God's love quietly into a conscious
world.

Riding down the mountains in a tour bus, on our way home,
getting caught behind a wide load truck and being forced
to drive real slow behind it.
Going through mountains, rising high into the atmosphere

Our childhoods approach us even in our aging years,
reminding us of our one-time hopes and dreams that
were never attained.
