RUMINATIONS

Running these empty roads
Summer bougainvillea in full blooms
...

Barely dawn
Echoing her loss the church
Bell rings
...

In the early morning he stood in the garden,
Gazing upwards at the pinkish sky.
The birds' orchestra announce,
The longest summer day.
...

Slight breeze, leaves skitter over the paths,
Some crows and doves still pecking at the bird feed,
Offered by the animal lover.
Walkers, joggers, lovers are out.
...

The hallux had become the morning star,
The battered, sacrificed toenail,
Made to believe it needed to give up its life.
...

filial love
day and night by his father's side
tending, caring, loving
the teenage son

RUMINATIONS

Running these empty roads
Summer bougainvillea in full blooms
pomegranate blossoms, guava fruiting
jasmine blooms, flame flower
squirrels, crows, blue birds
living.

Down below
the despair of the heart
echoed by the hoarse croaks,
of city crows.

Running these empty roads
running onto early dawn
the rising sun looking like a sunset,
deaths enveloping the city,
ambulance sirens never cease.

Running these lonely roads
A lone cyclist every now and then
A lone widow travelling in a taxi,
two lovebirds on the roadside
a rare sight.

Running these back lanes
brought back memories,
of a time gone
in our town, city, country, world, galaxy
where there once was love and laughter.

Where once upon a time
the person in charge, like other peoples,
has the interest of the nation,
progress for all.

Running these pandemic days
masked, vaccine less, fear,
in the heart, tears in the eyes
will better days come for those who survive?
or will the man in charge,
have more ‘better' plans?

ACHINGLIU KAMEI Quotes

Poetry is the balm for wounds that would not heal-spread it slow and soft.

Every season of your life, you will be faced with a big decision to make. Decide like the spring is just round the corner and brace for the fall.

One of the best ways to thaw a knotted thought is running.

Remember to live fully, while alive, so that your loved ones who survived you can celebrate your life.
