Andy Pandy Poems

The sun on my back,
the wind gently touching the back of my neck,
These things will last forever.
These things will stretch on for eternity.
...

run,
don't stop,
breathe deep,
exhale,
...

Sing songs of silver skies,
On the seven seas,
Go sailing by,
And save sadness for another time.
...

I forgot my name,
Not that my mind was blank,
Just absent of self-praise.
And for the first time
...

a thousand voices fill the air.
strangers. coming. going.
each step heavy with a sense of urgency, will, and purpose.
the world is alive,
...

I was chasing airplanes through the sky,
And as they turned and danced,
The clouds were photographs
And I was full of life.
...

7.

There is nothing sound or safe,
Hidden from Your gaze.
The way the wind swells and sways
In supernatural dance.
...

I made a list of every reason
Why there's no need to be afraid.
But what if all I had should disappear?
Would I still feel the same?
...

As I sit and watch the tide roll in,
I'm waiting for a ship to captain.
So I can sail upon this sea
Of open graves,
...

10.

You say I walk too slow.
Well, I just don't want to miss a moment.
Breath deep,
And take it as it goes.
...

I woke in a cold sweat.
Heartbeat pounding.
Restless.
Lungs collapse in rhythm.
...

polygraph says
i lie.

i don't.
...

i am a tree
i'll hold you in my branches
hide you in my leaves
love is a precious thing
...

i found a hole in the center of the world
sat and watched as it swallowed every ocean
and i built a castle on the shore
a shelter for the fish that were now homeless
...

Here's to the coming year.
I hope we're stronger than the last.
May angels follow you home,
And guard your steps from falling.
...

the explorer stands
with outstretched hands
in victory, in celebration,
in pure joy,
...

close your eyes and enter
a land of unknowns,
where, will and conscoius thought abandoned,
imagination takes control,
...

Hell Vs. Me In A Fistfight To The Death

The sun on my back,
the wind gently touching the back of my neck,
These things will last forever.
These things will stretch on for eternity.
The sun will shine on
The breeze will blow on,
Touching people in the same way
They have touched them for generations,
A gentle tap on the shoulder,
A pleasant reminder:
'Yes, I'm still here. No, I haven't changed.'

And then the night.
It descends like a fog,
slowly, steadily,
A darkness that's crisp and cool as a mountaintop,
That's thick as mud.
And with it comes a strange relief,
A place to hide my sins,
Push them into the shadows
Hidden from the ever-judging eyes of passers-by.

I once was brave.
Wore my mistakes on my shoulders,
A symbol to the world:
'This is where I've been,
and I'm never going back.'
But I've been asleep for too long,
My sins piled up to the point
Where my feeble body can no longer support their weight.

I have changed.
We are all changing.
I fear the worst.
There are dark days ahead.

Meanwhile...

The sun sits at a distance,
The breeze blows quietly past
Our darkened bedroom windows.
Both waiting for the chance
That we might let them in.
