“This is life”, they said.
“Full of trials and tribulations,
A beautiful interplay of,
happiness, joy and grief.”
...

Spare me please, mother
Let me see this beautiful world for once,
Let me feel the warmth of your touch,
the love of your lips,
...

Her eyes are misted,
Bound by an unknown grief she stands,
Tears hesitant to dropp down,
In her heart an ocean rolls,
...

When the night closes by,
I steal to you,
Behold, and warmth slowly falls into the soul.
Pushed around by a meretricious crowd,
...

Fight not, dear foe,
for you may not defeat me,
Argue not, for your words are
unarmed to plunge into our pregnant silence,
...

You sit across the silent room,
I try to hear your heart, but
all I hear are random words,
born from the tip of your tongue

Mind,
Mind is forlorn,
Like a book, misplaced by somebody

He has drowned in the unfathomed depths of this soul,
The face once etched in this heart,
covered now with the dust of time.
The warmth of a friendship

As A Sun Sets

A sun sets beyond the horizon,
As I stand and watch his rays
drowning in the sea,
I can feel the sand slowly sweeping away
beneath my own feet……

Time has come and flown by,
Washing away the words we wrote in sand,
knowing that the waves will come one day
and take them away,
And our sandcastles have grown cracks,
With time, we’ll watch them crumble too
And mix with eternity,
for new hands to come, to build new castles
The many dreams we shared,
will be the kites drenched in water,
No more able to soar high……………

For many decades did we spend
this life here, together
Now, as I stand and watch you set,
All your bright rays fading off,
Dissolving into the heart of this ocean,
I can feel,
my own sands draining away from beneath,
Maybe, to another sunset…………….

Good poem. There was a little suspense in the beginning when the narrator, i don't have a better word, asks her mother to spare her so that she could feel her touch, listen to her. Then it suddenly becomes clear in one line: Is being a girl a crime? I was quite surprised but then it all made sense too and was moved too.
