Down in Kentucky we don't leave the table til we've eaten every bite.
Down in Kentucky we aren't all pure country on the outside.
But at heart we don't even mind.

Because I'm not tough enough to take that kind of heat.
But my emotional scars go to the depths of the ocean.
No need to stir up some kind of commotion.

To hear the beauty in the voices that  can't go wrong.

Close your eyes and go to sleep. Dream of me, because honestly baby that's the closest we'll probably ever be. And for that I'm sorry but sweetie let me have you just tonight under this dark starry sky of dream filled wonders.

Your heart beats slow,
This breath will be your last,

They ripped apart my heart and shattered the pieces on the ground.
But I held my head high and happiness and joy is what I found.
They may think they hurt me with the words they said.
