When the mores and the norms
Of the land have many says
In drumming our cultural tom-toms

“I have my fishhook ready
The stream and the sea are there
And I’m ready to dive for fish
But I don’t know

Struggling and hustling for games
Of which every man is a player
On the pitch where all armed to win
...

If for the rigours they undergo
From that monthly messy thing
In trying to become complete women
...

I am so proud
to have you as my sun
that brightens every obscurity in me
...

“Think not
what your nation can do for you
but think
what you can do for your nation”

It halted; rainfall that once showered
It frowned; the earlier smiling sun
It hid; once displayed crescent moon
Yes! Nature has spoken
...

Death, a creature too you are
Threatening other creatures like you
With that your tuberous club
That yields to no pleading of its victim
...

A call to their abode
Read out their traits
Pecking the floor with their heels
Scattering all over without fear
