I kissed you in a dream last night.
The world stopped turning as our lips lingered,
the universe held in my arms burning.
Through closed eyes a sky full of stars
...
I love you, sotto voce, she whispers my name.
I whisper, tremolo, I love you the same.
Having not heard this concerto for too many years
The depth of the music has brought me to tears.
...
For many years I've watched it grow,
though years have flown the tree's grown slow.
And year by year events unfold,
and ring by ring a story's told.
...
The closest thing to is that isn’t
A dream isn’t.
But just try to convince yourself of that
...
Say we sat sometime, and (just) watched the way,
Played Rorschach Clouds, sat in tall grass and swayed,
Held hands with our shadows, and (just) …smiled.
What if we sat sometime, (only) watching the way?
...
He came unbidden, without permission
(I did not ask or invite him so)
Perched on my shoulder of his own volition
(I did but ask him please to go)
...
I am the moon, diaphanous.
My soul shines full
Thinly veiled beauty o'er
A wandering lookers chance,
...
Some slash across the sky
so fast we hardly notice at all.
Others, a long, slow burn
igniting our imagination.

I Kissed You In A Dream
I kissed you in a dream last night.
The world stopped turning as our lips lingered,
the universe held in my arms burning.
Through closed eyes a sky full of stars
a meteor pierces our hearts, streaking.
You kissed me in a dream last night.
Birds sang, bells rang, Venus smiled down upon us.
Full moon bursting my heart takes flight.
each to each embraced by the night,
and gentle love rains down all around us.
Waking, your kiss still clings to my lips
sweet morning dew too long has been missed.
Then morning sun filters in and the songbird
takes flight, flying away in the mist
with the joy that my dream sang of last night.
