Forsaken
I watch the sphere of hope
Fade towards the edge of our flattened world.
No questions asked of life and death;
A ritual, a procession, an end.
I dare to let my thoughts grasp,
Grasp for dear life of your memories
But gone are the days which filled my soul
With a bountiful spring of happiness,
Replaced now with emptiness and numb
Which spreads through my nerves and drugs me
Left beaten, forced to wait another day
And see all hope vanish…again.
