Chris Mackie Poems

Darkness shrouds my house
It has no windows or doors
There is no way back in
Everything is gone
...

This grey barren land we roam
A place we once called home
Where trees and plants once grew
And skies were clear and blue
...

With heavy heart
I stand here
overlooking the sea...
I long to see your face
...

And as I kissed her...
My surroundings becomes silent...
and time stood still
There is no past, no future
...

Bowed with the weight of anguish
head down...
Darkness consumes him...
as he battles up a hill against the odds
...

Surrounded by the forest of dreams
She danced beneath the shimmering stars
To the rhythm of water from a nearby lake
And it was there...
...

As I sit here in our special place
The sweet smell of her perfume echoes in my mind
And as the dark clouds drown the sunlight...
I set sail in a teardrop...
...

I am a reluctant spectator
A seeker of solace...
I travel by foot
on arid plains of disillusion
...

A glow spread from her.
And her colors began to appear...
Colors she thought she never had
My world opened to a beautiful infinite expanse
...

Storm clouds blanket the sky
Dark and gray, they come rolling by
Rain thrashes down, stinging my face
It hits me head on as I pick up the pace
...

Don't Leave Me Here

Darkness shrouds my house
It has no windows or doors
There is no way back in
Everything is gone
I sit here cliff side
Unable to turn back
Afraid of what lies ahead
Looking down at unknown light
I call out...
'Don't Leave Me Here! '
