Courtney Pare' Cox Poems

Its been awhile now since your hands have touched my body, my desire almost stinging
I was sharp then and you stood like a strong birch tree
sex was fun, passionate and new
you didn't go a day without making my skin become like the salty ocean
...

Tonight i want my innocence trampled on
every time I look you in the eyes thoughts of us together rush through me like water from a fire hydrant
run your fingers down my breast as you undo the buttons of my dress
kiss my skin hot and pale like the white beaches of a different land
...

Its been seven months to the day that your short life ended
your face now only smiles at me through my computer screen
too young to have felt loss such as this, I weep myself dry
...

I did not mean to love you

eyes like crystal balls knowing me without having to try

My ears pick up the sound of my mommy's voice not melodic as usual but raised enough to frighten me
...

the memories you shared with one another in photographs placed upon the oak mantel
the song on the radio that the two of you first danced to plays over and over again

Conversation Over A Tv Dinner

Its been awhile now since your hands have touched my body, my desire almost stinging
I was sharp then and you stood like a strong birch tree
sex was fun, passionate and new
you didn't go a day without making my skin become like the salty ocean

I am now round and you need fertilizer to stand like a newly planted sprout
they say if you don't use it you loose it and i my dear have thighs caked in mold
I have become useless to you, you toss me aside
“ Stop nagging you old bird the commercial is over”
