Old Friend

Remember the promise we made long time ago,
Yeah, I broke that promise today.
Old friend, I am sorry but the promise was long time before,
And I cannot live on this way.

You tell me, if you haven’t broken the promise yet,
It’s tough to keep doing the same thing over and over again
Who knows that better than that guy we met;
Greeting hundreds of people at the gate in the main
For each person entering the gate,
He has only greeted once and already complains?
How lame?
Look through his eyes and you will see how long is the game.

The same is our relationship, old friend,
It is time to let go and not think of you anymore,
Many times than not this is the trend,
But alas; you come back to suspend
Me and my life at tight ends.

But the fact is,
Even if I try;
I cannot move on.
Your shadows will haunt me,
Your dreams will wake me,
Your memories will break me,
And your promise overtake me.
I bet – no, no no. I wish
You feel the same.
I do. I wish you wake up every morning
And think of me too.
Perhaps, drop a few tears,
And then resume back to life there.

Sometimes, I see you in my dreams,
I know I am asleep but can feel the smile in my face,
You dance with me, and sing along, and kiss.
Ah, my life’s such a mess.

Old friend,
Come back again,
Time has changed I know,
But look at me—I am stuck
Every other boat is gone,
I cannot catch up no more old friend;
I am in the wrong boat with an empty seat behind me.
Plus, Can you smell the rain ascend?
