As I crawl out of bed each morning
Enthused about starting a new day
I grab a facecloth from the bathroom
To clear the sleepers away

About a half a century ago
When I was around 15 years old
I'd lived a rather sheltered life
Or this is what I've been told

I remember once having x-rays done
And had to fast twelve hours before
Had to get up early and with no coffee
Brushed my teeth and headed out the door

I had to go for bloodwork
On this monday past
Wasn`t looking forward to it
As it required a twelve hour fast

Thought I'd try my hand at gardening
Dug up some lawn out by the shed
Planted enough seeds to sow an acre
When a 10 foot square was all I had

Back in the early 90`s
I came across some seeds for pot
Had never tried to grow a plant before
I thought I might give it a shot

I used to shop at Penningtons
That was back a few years
It was located in Georgian Mall then
A couple of doors down from Sears

I grew up in a little New Brunswick village
And I was shy as I could be
So how I mustered up the courage to leave
Will forever remain a mystery to me

I spent some time at the Medical Arts building
Waiting fo a lady from my Red Cross run
While she was having a perscription filled
I studied people as it was fun

While vacationing in New Brunswick
Our family rented a chalet
Way up on the hillside
Facing the Fundy Bay
