Gritty sand graces my back
The stars mock my surrender
Though they understand my plight
The waves of the tide crash and break
...

Talons grasp tree’s armour
Tenderly; the first weeks of Spring
Winters door, closing tight
Snow has moved out, greens moved in

The Best Poem Of Eddie Dean

Alone

Gritty sand graces my back
The stars mock my surrender
Though they understand my plight
The waves of the tide crash and break

They sound hungry
Like the stars, I lay stuck
My celestial counterparts glimmer
I can hear their laughter

They know loneliness
Though it is learned over millennia
My severance is still fresh
Once part of a whole
Now food for the waves

Their cool touch enrobes me
I can hear my heart beating
Yet it is still broken
She was ripped from me

Most of my heart went with her
The hungry tide claims my face
I shut it out till I burst
It burns my lungs

The stars wink though my casket
I hear them laugh
The world fades
She is calling me
