Chemical Curtains

There's a room that I live in
here inside my head
rage leashed by chemicals
hanging on by a thread

Blood pounds in my ears
crying in my heart
every day, every hour
eah pill does it's part

To keep my pain inside
hidden from their witness
so other's can be comfortable
they don't want to see my sickness

The scars we all carry
hurt beyond measure
we salve our own wounds
wearing a mask for other's pleasure
