Em'Marie Sweet Poems

You wear many masks
Hiding in plain sight
I've seen one but not all;
Would I be repulsed or enamored?
...

Cannot get enough
For I have become a fiend.
Willing to sell my soul for a fix;
Another fix of you.
...

Outwardly still and serene
Internally agitated and turbulent.
My very own antithesis;
A daily battle for my very soul.
...

What is it all for?
Why care what others think;
Why make the effort to please all those we encounter?
Is the favor ever returned?
...

Splendid and unique
Genuine and True.
You see me
The way I see you.
...

Life is but a flip of a coin,
Could land either way;
Depending on the call you make
You rise or you fall.
...

Conflicted

You wear many masks
Hiding in plain sight
I've seen one but not all;
Would I be repulsed or enamored?

I see only what you reveal
The rest is a conjured image
Are you my hero?
Are you the villan?

Are you to be feared
Or are you the fearful one?
Matters not your past deeds
For my heart aches for the future ones.

Alarms are sounding;
My head ringing.
I padlock my body and my heart
Yet I still give you the key.

Conflicted.
Torn.
Trusting and naive;
What shall I be?
You have all the answers,
Do you hear the questions?

Fully grown and magnificent
But you play the games of boys
Expecting all the benefits
Perks you never really earned.

An anomally you are,
Yet all too predictable.
An ideal and a walking contradiction;
Leaving me conflicted.
