I know the endless ball of wool…
the gentle hand that formed each stitch…
the tender love that that made it grow,
and…how a shirt can't stop the itch.

The teddy bear is stained and worn
its face pushed oddly flat.
I pause to wonder when I'm old
if I will look like that.

Eye of newt and wing of bat,
a little bit of this and that,
some cake, a clock with broke alarm,
the insect crawling on my arm,
...

The habit of my life is such…
I do not have the time for much
of this and that - unless I clutch
the unsuspecting moment.

A smile can hide a broken heart
and laughter covers tears.
A thick skin hides a soft inside
and confidence hides fears.
...

Light sneaks up,
like a clever word.
It's meaning not quite clear at first.
‘Till suddenly it leaps from behind.
...

Why is it radio stations play
the same songs each and every day,
and things that are nice now and then
drone on and on ad nausium?
...

Your smile like the dawn resplendent
warms my heart and colors my day,
and shines on me a light most pleasant
down the path I walk each day.
