Temptation

I see it standing before me as I always have

never extingishing, only dimming

always there

to grab it would not only sting me

but my perspective, my illusions, my world

and yet I want to reach

to remember its touch

its feel

its warmth

I know if I still myself

I remain unchanged,

secure, comfortable and safe.

but never full, never complete, never....me
