His eyes used to hold my smile,

reflections of a simple time

with simple emotions and simple expectations.

But now smiles have long since faded,

and the eyes once illuminious,

have dulled.

Friendships never die between us,

thats what we promised isen't it?

Its terrifying what a few years

and silenced distances can do to two souls.

For rekindling only happens when hearts remain open,

And I want to see the stars in your eyes again....
