I'd love to live in Warrnambool down by the Lady Bay
I would walk to the nearby beach in Summer every day
And walk along the shallows saltwater to my knees
And feel the coolness of the waves in the freshening ocean breeze

In the warm sunshine of January in the Parkland by the sea
The nectar gathering bees are buzzing around every flowering bush and tree
On a pleasant day in mid Summer of around 26 degrees
With the hoarse cries of the wattlebirds floating in the freshening breeze

His dream is a small house beside the sea
Of any cares he then may well be free
Far from Suburbia and the noisy town
Where all day long the cars buzz up and down
...

'Tis not his fault if he's not a nice person
His childhood years to say the least were tough
He is one who has his own share of knowledge
Though around the edges he seems a bit rough
...

Some we have dealings with do disappoint us
Though into our lives them we did invite
Perhaps in it for us there is some lesson
That when we choose we do not always choose right.

They strip from the poor like petals off of a flower
'Tis not about compassion 'tis all about power
The ambiguity in their words to suspicion gives rise
One thing they are good at that is telling lies

With Tenzig Norgay the first person to climb Mt Everest Knighted by the British Queen
The Great Sir Edmond Hillary his like seldom seen
A giant of a man in more ways than one
Respect in his lifetime he earned and won.

I visualize the happy times of Seasons long ago
In Macroom Town in Mid Cork where the Sullane Waters flow
Babbling through a green old countryside on it's journey to the sea
Through fields and by hedgerows, ditches and groves it flows eternally

A pleasant morning of around 22 degrees
With a certain freshness in the coastal breeze
That blows up from the sea at Lady Bay
It could turn out to be a perfect day
...

The great leader died under gun-fire in an instant the life from him gone
The people of the Nation mourn his passing but without him life has to go on
Great statues are built in his honour a hero for the centuries ahead
But honour to him now is of no value since honour does not bring back the dead.
