To the girl I love:
She torments me so, with dashing eyes, so alluring
Her feelings change from day to day,
my heart is left assuming.

Her face spoilt with beauty,
her skin rich with gold, have left me full of daring.
But she is gone like the wind, to another man
and i am left repairing.

I am here, alone and wanting,
with a broken heart I'm mumbling:
'Happiness, cover me like a blanket'
but my call remains unheard.

And so I yield with a teardrop present,
feeling stranded like a peasant, with nothing
but resentment towards your lover of the night.
You torture my heart, yet i cease not to love,

feeling lost, rejected and dejected.
