#2 Poem by Francois Collins

#2

The tale of two hearts is a lamentable tale,
one that has no happy ending.
You say I cheer you up without fail
but we both know you're just pretending.

The message is brief and simple,
if you don't want me go away,
but your pearly white smile, sweet lips and dimple
have forced me one more day to stay.

Though my heart beats like a drum to your name,
your fellow over there sits waiting.
You toy with my emotions as though my life's a game
and forget that he's the one you're dating.
