My wife smiles and pours tea for both of us,
she gestures to me with her hand
and her smile and words do sweep me along,
I see her eyes glow and feel how she is staring,

At first you thought love could at a time abate
that it is not strong enough to eternally persist
of its abilities and nature I did then to you insist
and told you that it even at times conquers hate.

the aroma of the wet earth and new life is everywhere,

the two of us at night lie cosily together in the cold darkness,
