Gift Anemua Poems

You see that tree over there?
Aye! , That tree planted by the rivers of waters
With dried leaves and stunted branches
That's my fatherland
...

There is a tear in my eyes
That has refused to drop
My balls are as cold as ice
Like a sky clouded at the top

Africa Of My Dreams

You see that tree over there?
Aye! , That tree planted by the rivers of waters
With dried leaves and stunted branches
That's my fatherland
It once housed great nests
But the Eagles have all flown away to greener foliage
Leaving only vultures and scavengers

The Doves stayed to restore peace
But their resolve was met with the Sparrow's hiss

A dreamer said things will be alright
As weeks turn to years, days to night
All I see, is a battle of roots
Fighting to own the tree
At the expense of it's fruits

I watched my fatherland
Swinging from left to right
Loosing its true nature and clan
To the tussle of the root's might
I watched, as the branches withered
The flowers died as infants
His black color now white as pale
From bleach of tears and wail

I saw ants crawling out of the tree
To defend it's territory
A thousand left to fight for free
Only one returned with scars, the rest was history
War was a tool by which moneywas carted
The battle was lost even before it started

I looked and saw my fatherland
Planted by the rivers of waters
Begging for water from a well
While the roots protuberated and swelled

I saw a tempest of woes blow past
And the tree crumbled fast
Then a seedling sprout out from whence the tree fell
In the rivers of waters, the new tree dwelled
And the fall of the old became a lesson
As his roots, branches and fruits all shared it's blessing.

This new tree with green leaves
And heavy shades of foliage
Void of corruption and spoilage
This is my Africa
The Africa of my dreams
