Gina Marie Moody Poems

Bathed by the rush of salty sorrow,
years of caked and crusted pain flows free,
murky puddles form at my feet.
...

I dread the silence
that unsheathes the night,
honing the blade
with which

There is no hypothesis
By which to ascertain a revelation,
Uncertainty has prevailed
Though I search with determination.
...

Patterns of misguided ardor
lace passion's gossamer shroud,
silken drapes of apprehension
swathe that which nature has endowed.
...

The ancient Oak
elegantly extends
its gnarled and weather roots,
seizing life from fertile soil,
...

Come,
thumb through my open book,
crease the cover
with your greedy grasp.
...

A feeling captures me,
between sleepless thoughts
and lucid dreams,
where certainty disintegrates,
...

Intellect
is the sum of defined equations,
tested
and firmly resolved,

Embraced within your essence,
I am satin,
billowing gracefully
charming a summer's breeze;

You
are the incarnation of hope,
a spirit risen from depths of dreams.
The embodiment of fortitude,

The cynic has re-emerged,
I've seen her in the mirror;
her frozen-hard reflection
gradually draws nearer.

I walked through the cemetery
intending to find
paternal predecessors
of my unborn son's family line.

Stumbling down our rocky paths,
We fell together;
misery and his companion.
I could have been anyone,

Yes, these eyes
are absorbing,
beyond the measure
of generous flattery.

Our paths crossed today,
colliding recklessly
in a cluttered aisle
of the used-book store

Meet me beyond limitations,
embracing lucidity,
bending the edges of dimension,
slanting the realm of reality,

You brushed the dust
from the butterfly's wings
and smothered the firefly's light.

I thought I knew you
despite the radical mood swings
and irrational perceptions
that now seem to be

The Best Poem Of Gina Marie Moody

Slipping Away

Bathed by the rush of salty sorrow,
years of caked and crusted pain flows free,
murky puddles form at my feet.

Struggling limbs sink into pits
of quicksand emotion.
I am lost in the mud slide
consuming my mind.

The downpour of bitter emotions
fills ambitious rivers of lost desires.
Chiseled canyons echo the hollow thuds
of collapsing dreams.

Fleeting thoughts of salvation
lose themselves,
sinking into thick pools
of deep regret.

Frantic eyes blurred by the mist
embrace hallucinations of
swollen velour clouds,
raining hope.

Desperate hands forever reach
to stroke bright illusions
painted on a black velvet sky.

Gina, How great it is to read your obvious talent. Your usxe of style and genre makes an understatement in your words and meaning It's funny, all I can remember is your floppy black hair and tilted head anytime Bill and I did anything. Keep up the good work. I hope that you enjoy your gift. It is a special gift endowed on you, to use to bring peace, happiness, and hope to others. That's why people read poetry- But why do others write? that is a question to ponder as you embellish your next quest. I am looking forward to it. Sincerely, Rev. Craig A. Hunnel, Sr. Ceres Valley View Church of the Nazarene Ceres, CA
