Hamzat Mariam Poems

Like farmers aiming for a bountiful harvest,
The world is bent on its back.
Farming away at the knowledge of how things should be.
My question became the strange one,
...

It's a word have heard,
It's a common language,
Its a seven letters word,
Its a big word!
...

I have an option,
But, can I take action?
Am torn between two choices,
Which aren't easy bushes,
...

I went with Mr. Anonymous,
On a walk so adventurous,
In a gown not too glamourous,
I know it's audacious,
...

Tweet, Tweet,
She perch on twitter,
Tweet, tweet,
Expect her regular update.
...

When I am happy, I am!
When I am sad, I am!
When I am in one of those moods, let me relive in it!
...

All week days I run around,
Here and there to attend classes,
All days on motion,
No moment to sit and sip,
...

For the mother who labour day and night,
I could keep going,
So her pains wont be in vain,
But I didn't.

The Stereotype World

Like farmers aiming for a bountiful harvest,
The world is bent on its back.
Farming away at the knowledge of how things should be.
My question became the strange one,
For it's contrary to the norms,
For success, for money, for fame
For the love of things I should possess because you do
For the sake of the show offs and the friend.
The trend continues with no end.

My questions. The strange one?
What about happiness?
What of contentment?
What of the peace and harmony
the heart longs for but doesn't get?

Most minds have lost,
Struck on the things they want,
Not the things they deserve,
Peace and tranquility are gone.
Only left with few.
The trend keeps going on and on
without an end in sight.
