Ibtihaal Hussain Poems

Grenfell Tower,
Unapologetic and tall,
What remains inside?
Still concealed from all.
...

With the fire now extinguished,
Anguish rages on
Your patience tried and tested,
As all is lost and gone.

Grenfell Tower

Grenfell Tower,
Unapologetic and tall,
What remains inside?
Still concealed from all.

Charring the hearts of the crowd,
The helpless pleas still echo aloud.
Unbelievable tales repeatedly told,
Truths to be revealed,
Will justice unfold?

Communities unite together,
Weak ties with authorities split & sever.
Lessons to be learnt a must,
To rebuild hope and regain trust.

For the lost and brave souls,
Who were once resident,
Of the postcode envy, W11
May you rest peacefully forever,
Now that the firestorms of Hell,
Transformed to gardens of Heaven.
