Ode To Iraq Poem by Ibtihaal Hussain

Ode To Iraq

Rating: 3.0

With the fire now extinguished,
Anguish rages on
Your patience tried and tested,
As all is lost and gone.

'Is this Islam? '
Please don't think to ask,
These demons know no religion.
We start with acceptance and unity,
Whilst they will only stop at division.

Now as inevitable as it may seem,
That future tragedies will unfold
The heartbreak and discrimination,
Will lie in your stories forever untold.
