Waking up,
looked in the mirror,
sixteen and beautiful,
didn't want to get old,
wrinkled and gross,
called up the boyfriend,
said 'i've got a surprise',
said he'd come right over,
got dressed in black clothing,
like somebody died,
wanted to be,
beautiful forever,
for the boyfriend,
looked in the drawer,
found the pistol,
put in one bullet,
stood in front of the door,
wrote out a letter,
it said 'i'll love you forever,
even after i die,
can't stand to look,
in the mirror someday and see,
some ugly old lady staring back at me.'
left the letter,
on a desk in the room,
dropped the pen on the floor,
heard the sound of an engine,
looked out the window,
smiled,
it was him,
come to see the gift,
heard a car door slam,
put pistol to head,
uttered one word 'goodbye',
pulled the trigger as,
he turned the knob,
heard the gunshot,
right in front of him,
rushed in,
saw the dead body,
read the letter and cried,
said 'i'll be with you even after you die.',
pulled the gun from the hand,
loaded one more bullet,
and too said one word,
'goodbye'.
