Untitled Poem by Ichigo Strawberries

Untitled

Watching you,
from far away,
wishing,
wishing,
you'd see me,
you'd notice me,
from far away.

I'm watching you,
you joke around,
never serious,
you're smart,
and funny,
you like pretty girls,
how can I compare?

I wear glasses,
I'm short,
I write,
I'm shy,
with frizzy hair,
I'm just your friend.

I'm not pretty,
like the girls you date,
not blonde,
not dumb,
not tall,
not popular,
I'm simply me.

How can you notice me?

How can I see inside you?

Know things no one else knows?

For now,
should I just be myself,
be your 'friend',
watch,
as you get a girlfriend?

Should I be like one?

One of those girls you like?

Dumb,
blonde,
un-questioning,
un-interested,
popular,
mean?

I wish,
you could look at me,
like you mean it,
a look that gives me,
the key to your heart,
that lets me in,
lets you help me,
lets me help you.

I'll just sit here,
watching,
wishing,
that you will look my way,
acknowledge my existence,
not as a friend,
as a,
unique,
smart,
witty,
clever,
girl.

Until then,
you don't need,
to know,
what I think,
what I really think,
of you.
