Empty Seams

I was presumed to be whole, but gradually torn
They ripped and they dragged; they shredded and they stole
All that lingers is a carapace that is tattered, numb and worn
My heart was snatched too yes right from my chest
All that remains is the shell of a human
and quite a copious mess
Still I see with remarkable acumen
I see how steadily the dull increases; oh how my heart is in pieces
The shards I can not find
So I am certain today nor tomorrow my heart will bind
I have come to terms with the sadness I am sentenced
Each day I pray and sulk for ...
