Empty Seams Poem by Isabella Red

Empty Seams

Rating: 5.0

I was presumed to be whole, but gradually torn
They ripped and they dragged; they shredded and they stole
All that lingers is a carapace that is tattered, numb and worn
My heart was snatched too yes right from my chest
All that remains is the shell of a human
and quite a copious mess
Still I see with remarkable acumen
I see how steadily the dull increases; oh how my heart is in pieces
The shards I can not find
So I am certain today nor tomorrow my heart will bind
I have come to terms with the sadness I am sentenced
Each day I pray and sulk for repentance
To be forgiven for a sin I can not recollect
Some day I know I must accept
This horror of a duration
My foreseen scrutiny that needs no contemplation
Once or twice they interrogated me
Requesting “ Who took your heart and where did they take it “!
I reply simply with a certain plea
Go past the moon but before the sun, it twists in a heavenly orbit
Under the clouds and beneath the black abyss
Whirls a blue and green planet you surely wont miss
Yes, it consumed my soul; I suppose that was my toll
For this unspoken sin; So I plead listen close to my warning the line is thin
The furrow that you walk from day to day; be careful and avoid wandering astray
The shallow furrow that crosses from heaven to hell
Beware the world may steal your soul as well
