Jace Wolford Poems

Every time I tighten up my lace
I think about the last race
I do not remember my time or my place
But I remember the agonizing pace
...

It was the best of times
It was the worst of times
It’s a recession now,
..and I am pinching pennies and dimes
...

You are like a Disease,
You spread slowly over my body...

You start with my eyes
...

The Usual Run

Every time I tighten up my lace
I think about the last race
I do not remember my time or my place
But I remember the agonizing pace

Some people like to run
Some people hate to run
Some run for fun, or at the shot of a gun
And some run just to say they have won

With Sweat beading down my head
My legs feeling as heavy as lead
I keep marching, marching ahead
It sometimes makes me wish I were dead

To have success there is no time to rest
I keep pushing, pushing to pass the test
Pain, sickness, dizziness; is this another test?
I’m done, I finished, I have given my very best!
