Address To Congress

To my delight, I solve each night
All worldly problems of the day;
No potentate would stay up late
And lose his rest to contemplate
~ On balanced budgets (others say).
But I am one who can not rest
Till every problem is addressed.
When all the answers, I have found,
~ Have made my country strong and sound;
That health and wealth have been assured
~ And increased taxes been deferred;
What skeptic could dare to refute
I have the best approach to boot!
And when, at last, I go to sleep
I have one prayer, that I repeat:
"May Congress, somehow, try to view,
With open mind what I would do.
~ And keep their "cotton pickin' hands"
Off my own plans!"
