Best Poem of Jacqueline Vega

Slowly the ticking waves crash
and roll
In tune with the sand comes the echoing toll
Mechanically striking so lifeless
and cold
The pendulum pushes and pulls
and pulls
At the waves that rock
and ring
and roll

Eating the earth
and smothering holes
Roaring monotonous lulls
A lullaby of old
Echoing as it folds
Darkening sand
from its former gold
Snarling and rupturing
but taking hold
Of the sky which it now pulls
and pulls
Until they fit one vaporous mold
A brackish of brutal bold
