Jacqui Lempert Poems

Pat, pat, patting,
down the sidewalk slowly.
Walking barefooted.
...

Cross-legged, I sit on
the floor
in the middle of my
bedroom.

He knows something when he looks at me.
Something I never thought anyone could see.
The sad part of me that demands to break free.

Barefoot Walk (Haiku)

Pat, pat, patting,
down the sidewalk slowly.
Walking barefooted.

Cell phone in pocket.
I am waiting for his call.
buzz, buzz, buzz, 'Hello? '

I wish he loved me.
Would I be good at loving?
I don't think I would.

Thinking to myself,
Barefoot walks are good to me,
but I'm not for him.
