My mind is bloated with pointless fear,
In my heart, though, all is clear;

These frightening thoughts, they flood my head,

When people you know become people you knew,

The Rest Matters Not

My mind is bloated with pointless fear,
In my heart, though, all is clear;

These frightening thoughts, they flood my head,
So I'll use my heart instead;

‘Twill guide me on this journey rough,
I'm walking blind, so it will be tough;

But a greater asset to me than my heart,
Against this foe, these fears, I intend to thwart;

Is you by my side, dear, your hand in mine,
Leading me as I walk on blind;

When and if the roles are switched to where I must lead you,
Hold fast to me, I will lead you through;

We can go on, I know, no matter what,
It just takes faith, though it does take a lot;

But I believe in us, we can beat these things,
Hand in hand, dear, a song of triumph we will sing;

It may take forever, then again maybe not,
But I have you, and you have me, and the rest matters not.
