Jasmine Ramos Poems

1.

This morning as you walked out the door
You told me not to worry anymore
You said you'd be back, and I believed you.
But as the hours passed on
...

I stared into a mirror
And saw a girl looking back at me.
Her eyes were cold,
And her lips seemed set in a permanent sneer.
...

You didn't text me today, you didn't call.
The last time we spoke you said that soon you'd be gone.
I told you to stop, I begged you to live.
You simply said you'd be better off dead.
...

5.

Love you cruel, cruel thing
Come look at what you've done
I lose, and once again you've won
That stupid game called love
...

It may seem that to me you're nothing more
Than that guy on the bus.
The one I hold hands with,
And talk to.

Gone

This morning as you walked out the door
You told me not to worry anymore
You said you'd be back, and I believed you.
But as the hours passed on
And night turned to dawn
I realized you weren't coming back.

You'd forgotten me, forsaken me
You'd left me there to die
But somehow you couldn't understand
The reason why I cried.
As you were gone I longed for you
I thought of your face and the way you smiled
And I just sat there for a while.
Thinking of the things you used to do
And thinking of the person that I knew.
The person that I used to know.
The one who decided to go.

I decided to leave
And stepped into the street
But then I heard a scream
And I realized it was me
The car was coming towards me fast
And I knew I wasn't gonna last
I tried to run
But my legs wouldn't move.
The car hit me and it all went black
My thoughts turned to you
As my head fell back
And I realized you weren't coming back.
