All the nights I cried till my parents wake,
And all the tiny baby steps I take.
All the wrong decisions and parties I had,
The family I want, children to make me glad.
...
You know that feeling
When you're all alone
And every one
Makes you feel like you're on your own
...
Your waking dreams
I hear your screams
Of the hour
My wilted flower
...
She speaks of happiness,
Laughs of joy,
Smiles of love,
Has eyes of pain,
...
Alone and afraid
Misunderstood
Forgotten and terrified
Lied to and confused
...
She was a free spirit,
One with herself.
Took life as it was handed to her,
Never really complained.
...
Day after day
Nothing stays the same
The minutes go by like hours
The veil between yesterday and now
...
Don’t you just love it?
How parents are so controlling
How they think that they’re always right
...
If you knew
How much you would hurt me
Would you have done it?
Just to see
...
Ever hear
The bump in the night?
The one that scares
You with fright?

A Girl
A girl
Lonely and forgotten
Perhaps
Never known
A pretty face
Unknown name
Pushed around
And rumored about
A girl
Lonely and forgotten
Perhaps
Never loved
Arms scarred
Forever tattooed
Holes in her heart
Forever unpatched
A girl
Lonely and forgotten
Perhaps
Never thought herself as pretty
Nails done
In black
Hair did
To cover her face
A girl
Lonely and forgotten
Perhaps
Never happy
Deep blue eyes
Looks like a river
She’ll drown
In the flood
A girl
Lonely and forgotten
Perhaps
Never befriended
She is quiet
Never talks
Only cries
As she is passed by
A girl
Lonely and forgotten
Perhaps
Never to live
She is unwanted
She can see
She takes the hint
And her life...
