Jennifer Melek Ozgur Biography

Jennifer Melek Ozgur has been teaching middle and high school English and reading in the public school system outside Philadelphia, PA for the past sixteen years. She has been a columnist for her town’s magazine, The WC Press, and was the featured author in the West Chester’s Mad Poets series for April’s poetry month event, in addition to being a guest speaker in local story slams and district-sponsored cultural events. She has also been a contributing writer to Brainbug Magazine, a nonfiction science comic book for middle school students. Her writing has received several awards; most recently, an essay she wrote about her most improved student. Her most recent accomplishment is the publication of her children’s book, “One Million Kisses: The Promise of 153, ” by a house whose works appear in 50,000 schools nationwide. It is also available on Amazon and Ebay. She is currently on professional sabbatical leave to pursue various writing and research projects dedicated to promote literacy and positive mental health choices, as well as working on a screenplay and historical novel.)
