Jez Inglis Poems

All hope is gone.
Darkness is closing in.
A sliver of light
Above a distant hill
...

Hand in hand, we walked in the sand,
Along Swansea Bay.
How young were we in the Summer sun;
How carefree, how gay.
...

It seems a shame to hang myself,
On a day so bright and blue,
With celandines flowering in the woods:
Their blooms, the yellowest hue;
...

She looked so beautiful in the twilight,
Yet somehow she made me cry.
She shone so brightly in the moonlight
Under the evening sky.

Time To Go

All hope is gone.
Darkness is closing in.
A sliver of light
Above a distant hill
Is fading Fast.
There is no sound,
No life.
All joy extinguished,
All birdsong quelled.
All good is gone.
Evil is all around me.
I want no part
Of cold and dark.
It's time to go.
