Jodie Bawden Poems

I am bound captive.
His eyes glow with dominance, stripping my soul bare and leaving
but the brittle bones of my being.
It seems I revel in the vulnerability, wishing, wanting him to take me.
...

Take off your clothes
Let your souls bare free;
I'll take your hand
As we rush for the sea.
...

I have forgotten how to dream;
Past fantasies become fact and
I walk a lonesome soul amongst them.
...

Cold waters graze icy pebbles.
We stand so near our toes submerge
in the smallest of ripples.
...

Never before have I felt so joyously free.
I am ecstatic, blessed with such a feeling. Buzzing!
Singing, laughing in your car. Not a care, pure happiness.
You're a blessing, the funnest person in the world!
...

Choked by an overwhelming sense of freedom, an overwhelming sense of love - for you.
A sense of pure liberation;
so intense it is as if my heart is weightless and clouding my mind with childish fantasies of us together.
I am intoxicated, bound by the musky tones of you.
...

Cool water envelops me, so silky and smooth it caresses my skin. I swim close to the shore, marvelling trees which creep nearer the cliff edge - their branches reaching a forever awakening sky.
The soothing lap of waves against cool grey pebbles adds to the ambience of this place as well as the soft, almost inaudible mutters of the couple on the rocks.
I turn to look and their silhouettes stand stark against clear, sleepy velvet skies.
He leaves the fire behind, its smoky tendrils dance away on the wind leaving but a sweet scent as a reminder of what has been.

She is an angel's work - a rarity. The air around her is electric, crackling with euphoria and her soul is just so bright with beauty and wonder. She dances with the willows, dipping and diving in some ancient unspoken step. In her wisdom she cries silver tears, the kind that chime as they run down her flushed youthful cheeks. Tears that inspire endless melodies of passion and grace, arising hope in those lost mortals that flock at her feet.

She's an angel's work - full of the most delicate, intricate perfections. She's eccentric, larger than life! She'll grab your hand, laughing like some drunken banshee. Running and singing down the open road. Brave and bold, she is her own fantasy. A portrait of what most will aspire to. She is a nymph, a water spirit, a siren - the most intoxicating of beings. Men have and will fall for her. Her essence is subtle, far from muted. She is a creature of God. Crazy, wild and free.
...

Twirl me around in my silly skirt,
Kiss my blackberry-stained lips and wrap my purple fingers in yours.
Sing high, laugh loud,
Grab that wicker basket and come have a picnic with me.
...

Aron, you are my once in a lifetime person. You're the angel that once stole my heart, kissing me under a sky of dreams and an ocean of stars. We were so young and our love was so pure. I believe God was watching us that night; I believe he sent you to rescue me and I am eternally grateful. I will treasure those moments on the beach for the rest of my life - for it was a golden age in a mist of downfalls. I never thought I would experience anything like it. I touched heaven.

"I'm lost in the stars, in wonder. Our existence is precious, and I have never felt so incredibly free. My spirit is with the sea, my pride in the coastline and my heart in your hands. It is only you and me, both birthed by those stars in the sky. Nothing but magic, electricity is in the air and I dance along the shore. The water kisses my toes and the breeze plays with my hair and you join to play with me. We were two kids in love, soulmates, and that precious moment is now nothing but a beautiful shadow of the past. If I could, I would have stayed there. Sat by the fire on the beach, holding your hand, where life was so simple and I was so joyously free."
...

I have so many unspoken words, so many beautiful fantasies at the tip of my tongue. I eat flowers for breakfast, shower in exotic waterfalls and bathe in the purest of lagoons. I ride flying horses to work, dance amongst clouds and play with small elves before sliding down the glass rainbow to my bed of dreams.

Sometimes I lose time, he runs from me and sometimes I chase him, sometimes I don't but usually I find myself riding this deep, deep ocean current around Poseidon's castle. Sound is slow, the mermen are fast but I remain undetected. A mere mortal in the land of the unknown.

I am bound captive.
His eyes glow with dominance, stripping my soul bare and leaving
but the brittle bones of my being.
It seems I revel in the vulnerability, wishing, wanting him to take me.
To care.
It feels as if he has reached in, without a key, yet managed to unlock the way to my heart.
Entwining my soul with his, he leads the way
and as one we dance to the thrum of the Earth beneath our feet.
I feel liberated; the wind embraces us and with the power of nature, it lifts us up to high heaven.
If love really does bind me ever so captive, and my heart does cry out from all this pain - why do I feel so...
