If only I had known it,
I’d never have allowed,
Those words to fly,
That awful lie,
...
Do you think that young ones can fall in love,
When they are younger than the age sixteen?
Impossible in most the youths thereof.
But not in others with a different gene.

The Guilty Politician
If only I had known it,
I’d never have allowed,
Those words to fly,
That awful lie,
Right off in to the crowd.
And when the day is over,
And the night is drawing near,
My brain does quote,
That awful note,
Ringing crystal clear.
And as my heart beats faster,
Guilt starts to overflow,
I realise,
To my surprise,
It wasn’t the way to go.
If only I had known it,
I’d never have allowed,
Those words to fly,
That awful lie,
So selfishly and proud.
