John Lars Zwerenz Biography

John Lars Zwerenz (1969 -) American poet, journalist, novelist and musician. From Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia * Article by Diane Weil November 27,2021 John Lars Zwerenz (1969 -) American poet, journalist, novelist and musician. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigation Jump to search John Lars Zwerenz is an American poet, journalist, novelist and musician. Early Life: Zwerenz was born in 1969 to an aristocratic, Anglo-Saxon family in Long Island, New York. Zwerenz' father, Jack Zwerenz, was an active supporter of local and Statewide right wing politicians from the 1980's until his death in 2019. Zwerenz took to writing poetry in high-school and after graduating from New York's Queens College in 1992, he spent a brief period at conservative employment but was an ultimate failure. He worked for The Economist Magazine after attending graduate school but was fired due to alcoholism and a lack of attendance. After much extensive traveling across The United States, Zwerenz then went abroad and lived in London, England and Paris, France in order to write more poetry. [1] [2] Journalism and Music: Zwerenz worked for several years as a staff reporter for B&E Media, which owned eight newspapers in New York City. Zwerenz is the author of copious articles and essays, and wrote two novellas during this time. He also published 8 rock albums with Swan Records during these years.[3] [4] Publishing Career: It was not until 2013 that Zwerenz vanity published his first volume of verse entitled 'Selected Poems'. In 2014, Emage Magazine International hired Zwerenz as their official poetry writer, resulting in the substantial exposure of Zwerenz's poetry leading to contracts with traditional publishers. The result was the wide publication of four books of Zwerenz' verse by ATLA Books, a large, traditional publishing firm based in The UK. One of these volumes, 'Elysian Meadows' (2017) sold very well and soon Zwerenz' poetry began to be taught in Colleges both in The U.S. and abroad. [5] In February of 2020, Green Frog Publishing published 'The Complete Anthology' comprised of Zwerenz' entire published works consisting of over 800 pages. [6] Later Life: Zwerenz lives in The United States of late, and is 52 years of age. The Best Poem Of John Lars Zwerenz

Looking Through My Castle's Window

The trees look black
Through my castle's window
Where bats are free to come and go.
I fear a corpse just might attack
Approaching from the lawn below.

And all the demons of the night
Are liberated in the wood
Where baleful silhouettes and light
Are one in evil brotherhood.

And every shadow in this place
Is of the damned and their disgrace.

Yes, the trees look black
Through my castle's pane
Where the damned come back
To walk in disdain
In a cryptic pack
In the cold, spring rain.

John Lars Zwerenz Quotes

'All that matters absolutely is the salvation of the immortal soul. This transitory life is painfully brief. Eternity is forever' - John Lars Zwerenz

'No matter how confused you may be... No matter how isolated, misunderstood and unloved you may be or feel... No matter if no one cares whether you live or die... No matter how unspeakable, complete and bitter your sorrow and anguish may be... God not only exists, He loves you and He is all powerful... And His omnipotence includes the ability to make you definitively happy, beyond the farthest imaginings of your heart... Not in this life, but in the next... If you view this life as the only means to earn a beautiful and perfect heaven, you will certainly find it... If you live this life merely for the things which pertain to this life, if you ignore the fact that we are here for the sake of the next life alone, you will never find happiness...' - John L. Zwerenz
