Justin Nyamoko Poems

From lands so fertile;
Dispersed by the wind so hostile;
Brought to weedless lands fragile;
The weed that has spread like wild fire grows.
...

Am old and unholded
All the poignant memories piercing my brains
Lost opportunities eating me alive
...

In the street light with colours of light
Your face with beauty hanged
Like you were born now gone
Raped and crucified for us to see
...

The evening is iced,
a woman sweet they have lost
to the distant lands far.
Loud cries shaking the small hill,
...

Thrice I have fallen,
down deep the freezing sea
And the multitude has watched me
With phone cameras to take snaps
...

Earth, my soul shall depart;
The crusade of my ancestors it shall join;
Earth below the mourning being I shall leave;
Engulfed by darkness beyond dark
...

Till oceans become dust,
A preacher of love ordained,
Till my weary weak heart shall burst,
Your hand I shall hold
...

The Weed

From lands so fertile;
Dispersed by the wind so hostile;
Brought to weedless lands fragile;
The weed that has spread like wild fire grows.

Uprooting farmers trying,
The root so deep has grown,
Burning, effective it seemed
But with figure it grew again.
