Juvie Gubat Poems

Long had slumber governed the pen
Though the wells of the soul had overflown
And the hands ached with the longing to release
The fiery passion that had crushed the bones.
...

Oh how I love this solitude, this quiet.
How I love being with you...
You, to whom I have been stripped and laid bare,
From whom I always drink love to my heart's content,
...

The ruins lay before me.
I turned my back on them and left them.
You came and you brought with you pieces of the ruins.
Standing before me, as if in a vision,
...

I had but one question before I married you.
I wondered if life'd be happier with you.
I needn't think hard, because just by watching you,
I knew I could never be with any man who isn't like you.
...

Many are the woes in my mind.
Marching and mocking, they surround my heart.

Must I stand broken and forlorn as an abandoned bride,
...

In this game, one heart is bound to be broken.
The goal is to be the one to break the other's heart.
My loss was certain because I can't even break a bone.
So I broke my own heart, so you don't have to do it.

The promise of fantasy is the fruit-laden trees
And the cool crystal pool of Tantalus.
With insatiable hunger
One reaches out to the sweet outgrowth;
...

Send me not away from Your Presence!
If not to You, where else is it good to go?
If not with You, where else is it better to be?
...

She was broken and he made her whole.
She was whole and you broke her.
Now she tries to pull herself back again.
She wouldn’t want to ask him to make her whole again;

Living On

Long had slumber governed the pen
Though the wells of the soul had overflown
And the hands ached with the longing to release
The fiery passion that had crushed the bones.

Gentle but blazing as the stars in a clear night
Silent but enigmatic as the Hound of Orome
Motionless but ominous as the Queen in Charn
The pen lay still... awaiting for the appointed time to rise.

Then the dawn comes and ushers in the light of morning
And with their song the muses wipe out the sleep of the night.
A tidal wave of songs, and lays, and verses burst forth
And great is their impact in the souls of men.

But the stars, blazing and bright as they are
And Huan, mighty and noble as he is,
And Jadis, fearsome and stubborn as she is,
Cronus passes by and reduces them.

Until in a gentle and silent immobility, they will fade,
And what has just risen this morning shall fade too in the eternal night.
But the souls of men will live on beyond the eternal night
And in their hearts the pen shall dwell for all eternity.

Juvie Gubat Quotes

Explanation is a privilege. Not all deserve it.

The crowd will follow, yes, but only after they try to bend you and fail. Stand firm.

The more I see the capacity, the need, and even dependence of people towards bias and prejudice, I see sheep more than humans.

Feminism is comfortable for men because it relieves them of their responsibility to lead. It is attractive to women because it feeds their illusion that they are in charge.

When you think of ideals, you think of perfection. And when you think of perfection, you are dreaming. Now that is not so bad. After all, dreams are what make us humans. Idealism, then, is more human than sensuality, which is not a product of our dreams but of our instinct.

The necessity of organized institutions stands as a testament to humanity's unreliability.
