Twist

I sit with heavy heart whilst thoughts run through the dark shrouded areas of my mind, Thoughts that take my heart and squeeze it like a stockbroker squeezes a stress toy. Manipulating memories to form monsters that devour the empathy that I feel for others. Twisted shapes and shadows closing in clouding my dreams and aspirations, it all seems hopeless…………

The black moth ridden cloak of death plagues my life upsetting the level headedness of which I have come to rely upon, salted droplets roll over the time withered ridges of my face to end up as pools of discontent on the cold stony floor of my soul. I pray for a guiding light to devour this loneliness and to show me the way to euphoria but all this is, is a whisper that falls on the ears of deaf angels.

I wake in the morning to the cold hand of silence
I roll over in my bed to find that there is no warmth on the other side
I arise not to a smile but to the sound of a heavy heart
I walk to the bathroom but have nothing to share
