On the beach in Onetangi Bay,
Dotted forms of humans lie;
Dredging embers from the day;
While dusky sun-streaks make their play,
...

I once knew a feller called Bruno Keller,
Who worked in a cellar where he ate is paella
And chocolate nutella, and drank a lot of wine.

John Hannah from Montana, met Denny from Kilkenny,
In Paris at the Hilton, where they had a slice of Stilton,
With their pot of English Breakfast Tea for two.

Onetangi Beachscape

On the beach in Onetangi Bay,
Dotted forms of humans lie;
Dredging embers from the day;
While dusky sun-streaks make their play,
To leave and herald dawn.

Rolling breakers of foam-tipped force,
Tease the few bathers who chase their course;
Along noisy surf and crashing wall,
Rushing on to meet landfall,
Of wide, firm, sandy beach.

The sun sets lower; blinding, enriching, then deserting the sky;
The sky is bereft; the day is done.
