John Hannah from Montana, met Denny from Kilkenny,
In Paris at the Hilton, where they had a slice of Stilton,
With their pot of English Breakfast Tea for two.
Devon is in heaven, surfing on the River Severn,
Drinking Lola's cherry cola, reading Pasternak and Zola;
Well it's a long, long, way to go, round Land's End from Plymouth Hoe,
Especially if you're stuck with seven bores.
Walter from Gibraltar, met Wayne in southern Spain,
Where he knew a senorita, from Granada named Juanita,
Who grew orange groves and vines in Old Seville.
Houston lives in Texas, where Austin has a ranch;
They're just a pair of poseurs, who both sell yellow roses,
With Dallas, Beau, Sue-Ellen, Belle and Blanche.
And the twins from Omaha, are just like my old mama,
Who is Betty from Dalgety, where she lives just past the jetty,
In her picture-postcard cottage made of thatch.
