Khampa Boy

Khampa Boy Poems

Storm clouds roll in again and again
Till the snow high drift is utterly slain
Light and laughter began to fade
My world is now captured in shade
...

The kingdom in a mosaic of golden rays
Was once the paradise of happy days
Fields of greenery and soils soft creams
The mother of all, home of sweet dreams
...

Today, a joyful moment of my alien home
Hails the sixty fourth birthday of Bharat dome
But a hazy day of my sickly snow state
Unfolds a dawn of thrashing storms of hate
...

The song in a rhythm swirl
And a tune in the fire whirl
Can you see them through their eyes?
Or will you listen least to realize?
...

I sing through the wind blown
A song from the land unknown
Bewildered if I should rue or rejoice
For I can't hear her voiceless voice
...

Rising above the foliage stretched across the hills
In a crystal fountain that snowy white distils
The celestial light which keeps darkness at the bay
I am the dreamful cold breeze on the summer's day
...

Horizon Lost

Storm clouds roll in again and again
Till the snow high drift is utterly slain
Light and laughter began to fade
My world is now captured in shade

Lost our mother, drifting through the rain
In death, in heartbreak, in fear and in pain
Dreamy snow panorama, gone over the mountains
Over the desert and finally sank in shady fountains

From horizon to horizon I have reached
A thousand miles away from the home breached
From here to nowhere I can fly
For mist and fogs covered is the sky

Dozen a year I have never seen
The hoary mother once a virgin queen
Couldn’t even dare of viewing her slim green
Because nothing is same as she had been

Now I’m a blind even though I can see
And a vagabond where I should not be
As lost is the horizon in dark
That none is seeing my own mark

Now my vision seem to have faded
And my worn feet feel jaded
Yet even reach never to the heavenly dome
I will walk the long road home
