Rising above the foliage stretched across the hills
In a crystal fountain that snowy white distils
The celestial light which keeps darkness at the bay
I am the dreamful cold breeze on the summer's day
Budding from a tiny bough greeting the dewy hill
Smiles on my head against the mountains stand still
The melodies of birds, the heaven's tune ever I hear
When daises kiss my feet, nothing filth comes near
O wind from the far east- stop shaking my home bough!
She is never weak if you think you are strong enough
For winged are her feet rooted down for ages to ages
That will tell you her story through the endless pages
A hope of the day in dreams for better tomorrow
Or a rolling stone in storms simmering under sorrow
No beauty is more profound for summer's smiles
When my fate is fallen under the game of wiles
Rolling by the wind over the mountains and sea
Twist and turning a restless leaf is always me
Further I go on the road rarely lays in my eyes
And nearer the home my heart often flies
Down under the crushing feet I ever lay
Up upon the way my journey goes astray
Between the hopes and despairs dangling to and fro
I am the fugitive dream for winter's drifting snow
When the balmy air or my pretty flowers
Call back for their days of my fairy bowers
To me the summer's glow sparks again and again
But to stir a memory buried deep beneath vast plain
Flying in air or hidden deep under the deserts lay
I know not how my road leads on to the way
Somewhere through the ages I'll sing with dunes
A song to the beautiful spring in my own tunes
